About Karla

If you are looking for a therapist who is authentic, warm, empathetic and is a good listener then I may be a good fit!  I aim to create a safe place for you find hope and healing.

I have provided therapy for women for the following struggles: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, religious trauma, life transitions, relational difficulties, divorce, poor self-esteem and challenges with work environment to name a few. I also have over 25 years of working with clients who struggle with disordered eating both as a Registered Dietitian and a psychotherapist. It has been an honor to help many adolescents and women find healing from an eating disorder.

I utilize a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy with a person-centered approach.  I believe that each person is unique and has value.  I believe that we often have false core beliefs about ourselves, others or the world around us that increase our struggle and prevents us from thriving.  It is important that you know my Christian faith is one of my personal core values and is integrated into how I view the world and life but will incorporate those spiritual principles only as you are comfortable.

A little about me personally, I currently live in the country near Johnstown, PA and love being outdoors, enjoying a good cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine on the weekends, reading, mowing my yard, watching fireflies, spending time with my friends and family and learning new things.  I have a 6-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix named Ollie and he brings me great joy. I have experienced some very difficult times in my own life but have found healing and hope for my future and want to help others do the same.  I look forward to meeting you!
